HISTORY

The company has its origins in India. In 2005, Dr. Amal Mukhopadhay and Erich Mayer met there during a delegation trip. Together, they recognized the potential for increased cooperation between companies in India and Europe. For Indian companies, Europe serves as a gateway to the Western world; conversely, the “Gateway of India” in Mumbai’s harbour is the symbolic gateway to India. The company’s name and logo were designed to reflect this concept.

In the early years, we primarily supported technology-oriented companies in India and Europe in entering markets that were new to them. Our focus was on the life sciences, medical technology, advanced technology, and financial services sectors. Today, we operate across various industries.

Our original team of cooperation partners across both markets comprised management consultants, entrepreneurs, scientists, legal and tax advisors, and technology experts. They brought together diverse and complementary expertise, intercultural competence, and extensive international networks.

While our geographical focus has since shifted primarily to Europe, we maintain a continued presence in India – as well as in China, Indonesia, and Australia – through our network of cooperation partners.
